Hello, my name is Alexandra. Welcome to my teaching portfolio. During the Fall of 2022 and Spring of 2023, I was employed at John F. Kennedy Memorial School in Biddeford, Maine.  I decided to try a Kindergarten placement, which has been an exceptional professional and learning experience. I am excited to share my teaching endeavors and practices through this website. Through this website, you can find my philosophy of education and my teaching artifacts aligned with Maine teaching standards.

In August of 2023, I accepted My first Special Education Teacher Position, where I learned to implement strategies, instruction, and teaching strategies from my educational experiences during my Master's Program. First, I learned to implement Token boards, creating my own based on student interests, which led to quick gains toward students' social, emotional, and academic goals. My second goal was to construct my positive behavior reward system. Lastly, I learned how to improve my pre-teaching of student expectations and modeling functional communication for diverse social situations. Students learned how to appropriately problem-solve situations by practicing role-playing.
